Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Pink Truffle - the perfect everyday shade!
The Revlon Lip Butters created a lot of hype when they were released. I for one was very excited to try this lipstick/lip balm hybrid; and it's safe to say I wasn't disappointed.
The Lip Butters are described as having a 'hydrating mango, shea and coconut butter formula that boosts lip moisture by 156%. Pampering gel formula provides super charged hydration and glides on lips buttery smooth. Sheer to medium colour with buttery shine. Available in 20 luscious shades'.
I believe in the UK we received 14 of the 20 shades; the lucky gals in the USA had access to the full collection.
The shade I am reviewing today is Pink Truffle. On me, this is the perfect rosy nude colour with the right amount of brown and sheen that can be described as my go to MLBB (my lips but better) shade. It's very office appropriate, creamy but not overly so and I seem to be using it more and more now that Autumn/Fall is finally upon us.
As far as application goes, I find this very smooth and indeed buttery to apply and I was impressed with the pigmentation and opacity of the colour, especially since it's advertised as a 'sheer' product. The intensity can be built up as per personal preference, I prefer 1 or 2 swipes for a natural look.
I also really like the Chanel-esque quilted packaging, and how the colour of the lid corresponds with the colour of the lipstick making it easy to find in amidst your make up.
In terms of wear, due to the sheer nature of the product it's not the most long wearing lipstick. However, I don't really see this as a problem, particularly as it's so easy to re-apply. I tend to get just under 2 hours wear out of this particular colour. I rather enjoy the creamy, glossy application of this lipstick, even if it isn't the most long lasting.
If you're looking for a relatively inexpensive office appropriate shade that can be worn with a smoky eye or even just to correspond with a natural look - this may be the shade you're looking for. It's priced at £7.99 at Boots & Superdrug.
I also have the Revlon Colorburst Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti - keep an eye out for a review of that soon!
NB - This lipstick was purchased by me and all views given are 100% my own.
