Autumn Style File - Navy Eyeliner!

I love navy blue, especially in Autumn/Winter, in all things be that coats, clothing, scarves etc. It's such a rich, deep shade and I feel it translates well if incorporated into a make-up look as well. Here's how...

My inspiration behind using Navy eye-liner as an alternative to the usual black or brown emanates from the below picture:

This is a picture of actress Kareena Kapoor from the film Kurbaan, and i loved her eye-makeup throughout in this film.
As you can see its not a bright navy eye; its more of a solid black line with a hint of navy. I feel it compliments her brown eyes perfectly, and the rest of the make-up has been kept elegantly simple.

I think the following MAC products can be used to re-create this look effectively:

  1. MAC Fluidline in Waveline - a gorgeous navy gel eye-liner

2. MAC Powerpoint Eye Pencil in Prussian - a darker grey/blue pencil

If you wanted to create a cleaner, crisper navy line both on upper and lower lash line then I would suggest using the gel eye-liner. If a smoky, smudgier line is what you're aiming for ,  using the pencil would be a good option, especially as it can be used on the waterline and can be smudged out.

I for one can't wait to try the Waveline Gel Fluidline, but may also invest in the navy eye pencil to smudge on top of my normal black gel eyeliner to give a glimmer of blue, as shown in the pictures above. I will upload some pictures once I've given it a try :)

So what do you think, is navy eyeliner a trend you would try this Autumn/Fall?

On a parting note, I feel navy eyeliner shouldn't just be limited to brown eyes. It can be used on blue eyes to really make them pop, green eyes as a sharp contrast, in fact I feel it would look good on any coloured eye to bring add a pop of colour and is a great alternative to black or brown.

  1. Navy liner is a WONDERFUL alternative to brown, gray, and black! And it falls right in in for this falls color trend of navy!

I have personally tried the mac pencil liner in Prussian and believe that the navy gel liner is a better alternative. The color is beautiful and goes smoothly on! Very long lasting as well.
