Nars Amour Blush - A Review

You can't go wrong with a classic pinky/peach shade and that is what I am reviewing today - pictured above is Nars Blush in Amour.

It is described as a 'peachy pink' shade according to Nars, and retails for £21.00, housing 4.8 grams of product. The packaging, as always is with Nars, is the rubberised matte black silicone covering that seems to attract all kinds of dust and grime. However, it's nothing that a quick swipe with a wet wipe won't fix. Also, it comes with a sturdy mirror which is ever so convenient for touch ups on the go. It's something I wish Mac would introduce in their blush packaging too.

I bought this a few months ago, when I was keen to break my habit of gravitating towards peach/coral blushes. This still has an element of peach/coral, but on me shows more pink than peach.

Nars blushes are renowned for their pigment, and Amour is no different. It is a highly pigmented matte blush. Its perfect for everyday, and although it is pigmented I wouldn't say its easily overdone. The texture is slightly dry, so you may have to work on blending it well, more so than some of the other silkier Nars blushes.

It can be layered on for a more dramatic look, or just lightly blended to give a nice, natural flush of colour to the cheeks, for a neutral day-time look.

I find this blush to be quite long wearing, and can easily get 7-8 hours of wear from this blush without the need to re-apply the colour. As not much product is needed to get a natural flush, I feel I will get a lot of use out of this particular blush.

Another thing I wanted to share was a tip I picked up from both the Nars wesbite and Nars counter I purchased this blush from: 'Blush is the fastest and easiest way to give yourself a pick-me-up. Start by applying blush to the apples of the cheeks. Take what's left on the brush and sweep across the hairline, bridge of the nose, and the chin. Neutral-tone blushes can also be used to contour and sculpt the skin.' –James Boehmer, Director of Global Artistry.

A great tip, don't you think? Following the above tip can help to naturalise the blush on your face; especially with more neutral shades.

So, for those of you looking for a nice matte pinky peach blush, I highly recommend trying Nars Amour. As the name suggests, you just might love it :)

Thanks for reading!
