Lets Teeze Those Tangles!

Tangles are no fun. No, seriously they're not. This, coming from a girl who has had easily tangled and  'knotted' hair for as long as she can remember. My hair type is wavy bordering on curly, with a tendency to frizz up and dry out if not tamed.

However, the product I am reviewing today may bring an end to all that, for any similarly tangled lovelies out there.

Behold, the Tangle Teezer - Compact Styler version

Now, this funky looking thing has been around for a while and has been gaining prominence of late. I have been using this for just under 2 months and I have to say - I LOVE it!

Its described on their website as "An on-the-go hairbrush that keeps your hair smooth, glossy and tangle free. It’s perfect for your handbag and has a unique protective teeth cover. Keeps your hair style competitive on the run." and comes in a variety of colours and prints.

You can purchase it here and here and I believe it retails between £10.99 - £13.29 depending on the style and print you choose.

I purchased mine from my hairdressers when I went last and have been using it ever since.

I decided to get the Compact Version rather than the Original Tangle Teezer  as this version is essentially that - compact and easy to take with you to work, school or a night out to help you tame those tresses!

I was quite taken with the golden shiny colour of the brush contrasted with the black and loved how perfectly it fit in my hand which is good as it doesn't slip or move whilst using on the hair.

As you can see above, the bristles are of varying sizes; with some long and some short. This ensures that the brush does not tug or snag when you move it through your hair.

The best use for this I find, is when your hair is damp/wet just after washing. It always used to be a struggle for me to detangle my hair once I had washed it, but with this I honestly find it just glides through making my post - wash hair routine oh so much easier not to mention quicker!

I don't really find it as effective on dry hair though. However that is not really an issue for me as I can use any normal hairbrush/comb to style the hair once its dried, due to the next to none tangles or knots after using this.

The brush comes with both a cover that clicks into place, preventing any damage to the bristles whilst storing or travelling with it, as well as a heavily illustrated leaflet outlining the many uses of the Compact Tangle Teezer. The leaflet is quite useful as it shows you how to tease or back comb your hair using the Compact Styler along with instructions on caring for and cleaning the styler.

I believe that the makers of Tangle Teezer have a Kids Collection in the pipeline and I feel that is a very good idea, as it widens the user market for this product.

To test run that, I used the Compact Tangle Teezer on my little niece whom, as most kids, is always very reluctant to detangle her hair after a bath or shower due to the pull and 'ouch' factor.
However once I convinced her to let me use it on her, she was as happy with it as I am. Yay for tear-less hair styling with an 8 year old!

So, I would really recommend trying the Tangle Teezer, particularly the Compact Styler, as its very effective, it's easy to use and travel with and saves a lot of hair hassle :)

NB - This is NOT a sponsored post. All views and thoughts as well as pictures expressed here are my own and this Compact Styler was purchased by me with my own money.
